Picture Books for Children
For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to write children picture books that gave children the specific skill levels they need for their social and emotional development. I fell in love with the panda bear because of its gentle nature and its big cuddly frame. I created a panda bear named “YIN” and featured him in all of my books. The first one is Who Am I? and it is about the first skill level, self-identity. Yin goes on a journey in search of himself and along the way he discovers his heart, which has all of his special gifts. The second book is about compassionate communication. Yin meets another panda and they learn how to share who they are and to listen to others. In the third book, Yin and his friends show a bully how to become a friend and to listen to his heart. It focuses on children learning to always include each other in their forest and not to leave anyone out and alone, (forming a community of inclusion). I have found it easier to reach children through story books.
"Who Am I?"Anti-bullying strategy at its best. Mom's Choice Award winning children's book, "Who Am I?", is a story of a panda bear named "Yin" who takes a journey and discovers wonderful things about himself including his heart, which holds his special gifts that he can bring to the world.
